MINI
MONETBring
out the artistic talent of your child! Boys and girls 4-5 years old with parent
are taught a variety of art - watercolor, acrylic, sumi painting, how to mix colors,
make a color wheel, etc. in Mini Monet. Class is held Tuesdays, Section B:
May 6-27 from 5-5:45pm at Tremont School Art Room. Cost is $50 Resident/$55 Non-Resident
per section and includes supplies. Please bring a two-pocket folder to class.

PEE
WEE PICASSOBring
out your child's artistic talent! Boys and girls 2-3 years old with parent are

MICHAEL
ANGELOBoys
and girls 6-12 years old are introduced to drawing with a basic understanding
of art and techniques. The use of shapes, negative space, shading, values, perspectives,
pen and ink techniques are introduced. Class is held Tuesdays, Section B: May
6-27 from 6-7pm at Tremont School Art Room. Cost is $50 Resident/$55 Non-Resident
per section and includes supplies. Please bring a two-pocket folder. |
AMERICAN
RED CROSS BABYSITTING This
clinic is designed to teach boys and girls 11 - 15 years basic childcare, rescue
breathing, first aid, accident prevention, growth development, supervision skills
and problem solving. The clinic is held on Saturday, Section B: May 3, or
Section C: May 31 from 9am - 3pm at the Upper Arlington Municipal Services Center,
3600 Tremont Road. Class will be held in the Lower Level Conference Room. Bring
a sack lunch and drink to class. Registration fee is $56 resident / $62 non-resident.
A Certified Instructor will teach the clinic. Upon successful completion the participant
will receive their Red Cross Babysitting Certificate and notebook. If possible
bring a baby doll. Participation is limited. |
SUNDAY
SWIM AT UAHS NATATORIUM
The Upper Arlington Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring the Sunday
Swim at the Upper Arlington High School Natatorium. The Sunday Swim meets from
1 - 3 p.m. each Sunday except when the Upper Arlington City Schools are not in
session, or the Upper Arlington Swim Club hosts a swim meet. The final Sunday
Swim of the season will be held on May 18. The fee is $2.00 for residents and
$3.00 for non-residents. Fees are paid at the Sunday Swim. All senior citizens
with a Golden Buckeye Card are admitted free. For additional information and
dates for swim meets, contact the Upper Arlington Parks & Recreation Department

SUMMER
DAY CAMP REGISTRATION IS UNDERWAY!The
Department conducts a Summer Day Camp program, which provides a valuable service
to families in which both parents work. The camp provides supervision for
children, ages 6-12 and operates from 7:15 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday through
Friday, at Thompson Park North Shelter House or Barrington Elementary School (Cafeteria).
The 10-week Summer Day Camp will begin Monday, June 9 and conclude Friday, August
15. The last five days of the Barrington Day Camp will be conducted at Thompson
Park Shelter House. No program will be held on July 4. Activities include
arts and crafts, games, quiet recreation, movies, swimming, library visits and
field trips. Participants bring a packed lunch daily and an afternoon snack. Beverages
are provided. Qualified leaders at an approximate ratio of 15:1 staff the
program. A $50 R/ $60 NR non-refundable registration fee, $35 swimming participation
fee, and $135 non-refundable purchase of the first five days of camp is required
at time of registration. Camp fees of $27 per day or $135 per week will be paid
weekly at the camp once you have used the initial five days purchased at registration. For

CAMP
ONCE IN AWHILE REGISTRATION BEGINS AT 8:00am, FEBRUARY 13th FOR RESIDENTS (FEBRUARY
20th FOR NON-RESIDENTS)The
Department conducts a valuable program for parents who need partial day/drop-in
daycare. The camp provides supervision for children, ages 6-12 and operates from
7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, at Reed Road Park Shelter House.
The program will begin Monday, June 9 and concludes Friday, August 15. No program
will be held on July 4. Activities include arts and crafts, games, quiet
recreation, movies, swimming (without exception, all campers will be charged a
$35 swimming participation fee), visits from our arts and crafts specialist and
field trips. Participants must bring a packed lunch and snack if attending over
the lunch hours. Beverages are provided. Qualified leaders at an approximate
ratio of 15:1 staff the program. A $50 R / $60 NR non-fundable registration, $35
swimming participation fee, and $100 non-refundable punch card is required at
time of registration. Camp fees are $5/hr for the first 2 hours, $4 per additional
hour, $27 maximum per day and are paid by $100 punch cards. For registration

The
10th Period for the 2007-2008 School YearLooking
for a fun after school program for middle school students? The 10th Period is
a safe and fun alternative to going to an empty home. Hang out with friends, work
on homework, and leave behind the stress of a long day of classes. Program runs
the same days as the Upper Arlington Public schools from 3:30 - 6 p.m. Program
will be held at the Upper Arlington Senior Center, 1945 Ridgeview Rd. Cost for
the program is just $170 per month and a one time $50 registration fee. Students
are transported by Upper Arlington School buses from Jones and Hastings Middle
School. |

Storytimes begin March 24. Babytime for Walkers (ages 0-2) meets Mondays
at 9:30 a.m., Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. Baby Lapsit for
Nonwalkers (ages 0-18 months) meets Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Tales for Twos (ages
2-3) meets Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Preschool Storytime
meet Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Family Storytime for ages
2-5 and their families is Mondays at 7 p.m. No registration is required.

LANE ROAD; 459-0273 Spring Storytimes begins March 11 for toddlers
and March 25 for preschoolers and March 27 for tiny tots. Toddlers (ages 2-3 years)
meet Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. except for the first Tuesday of each month. Preschoolers
(ages 3-5) meet Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. Tiny Tots (ages
12-24 months) meet Thursdays at 10 a.m. Registration is required and is currently
underway.
